BIO


JaSaun Buckner is a visionary producer and media strategist specializing in content that conquers delicate social issues as a vehicle for inspiration, information and impact. JaSaun centers the perspectives and experiences of Black Women on screen and empowers Black Youth, Girls and Women through DREAM the national mentoring program she co-founded, that molds young aspiring content creators and tastemakers.

From a young age JaSaun loved watching TV and recording her own home movies which piqued her interest in making media that reflected real life. Creating her own version of the TV series A Different World JaSaun graduated from the illustrious Howard University, and holds a Masters Degree from USC in Communication Management.

JaSaun has overseen innovative TV & Film projects at Nickelodeon, MTV, CREATIVE TIME, BET, GLOW, Havas, GirlTrek and worked with Oprah, Drake, Bradford Young, and an impressive crop of social influencers.

Furthermore, JaSaun is sought after for producing Art Films and engaging digital and content social media content. JaSaun piloted an original video series for Spotify, the streaming service and podcast series for the nation’s largest online racial justice organization, Color Of Change. She is an Emmy Nominated Writer and celebrates the achievements of a digital Emmy, Two Webby Awards, NAACP image awards and Cynopsis Social Good Awards.

IFP, The Blackhouse, and HBO selected JaSaun Buckner as one of the first Multicultural Producers Lab Fellows in 2019. Currently, JaSaun is the Supervising Producer for The Nod with Brittany & Eric on the new Quibi platform. JaSaun’s Production Company Visionary Media is developing and producing a docu-series for the kids + YA demographic.
